How well does it fit now? Well it fits fucking perfect! Had to cut bumper behind foglight shrouds and a bunch of the airdam section. Before that it didn't fit at all.
I'll get you guys some more pics when I swap out the core.

I took a couple logs. I wasn't sure what you guys needed. I took one big log right from my house, on a short ride to the highway, to a 1234 gear pull, then a another short ride so you could see how long it took to cool. Then the other log is a 3rd gear pull.
However Im overboosting and getting fuel cut. Plus I'm not hitting fuel targets. So there wiil be no more WOT or logs till I get straightened out.

Ok I got the tr-8 in today and took before and after logs. The tune isn't even close to right because I haven't had any time to dick with it, but it's the same tune on both logs. The only difference being the cores. The first is the CX Racing at 86 deg ambient, follwed by the Treadstone at 89 deg.
The calculated load says the CX makes more power, no? Please discuss.

Here a few comparison and bumper clearancing pics. Sorry about the blurry ones. I would have gotten more but the camera batt died. Use the endtank to detemine which is which in the pics. The CX has polished while the Treadstone are "as cast". The Treadstone clearly has more dense fin structure both inside and out. The TR8 fins are staggered as well while the CX are not.
Also It looks like I would have had to do little to no cutting on the airdam for the TR8 to fit.

maybe the Cx racing is technically higher flow because of the lack of fins and at a certain point that maybe is more important over the additional cooling fins? Im sure there is a trade off depending on the power your making, but very interesting data.

Hey, where are you guys getting the flanges from, im having a hard time finding a weld on flange for my application (stock flange Turbosmart 50/50)? Nothing on Ebay has any sizes listed, and Googling "Turbosmart 50/50 flange" is next to hopeless haha. Thanks.

Wanted to thank h.h.sk1nny and everyone else for this thread (as well as Tigrayspeed6 for tons of help), i chose this core and went with the 2.25" piping kit from cxracing.. grand total was $246 shipped. I still have to get a cpl more reducer elbows and the adapter flange from SU. So when its all said and done, should be at approx $295.

Here's to lower temps in hot as balls Phoenix!!

Cool. Going FMIC was a lot of work but totally worth it. Be sure to post up some pics to further the thread.

ebay is where i pretty much got everything. I started with a 2.25'' inch kit but ended up going 2.5" because it was harder to find the reducers and it was a bit more $$ because You need reducers for the turbo, throttle body and intercooler since its more than likely 2.5" inlet/outlet.
And there was limited selection with the 2.25" kits. There were a ton of 2.5" kits out there. Why is it you wanna go with 2.25"?

Using 2.25" and limited or no 90* bends does wonderful things to eliminate lag especially with the smaller turbos like the K04 or BNR.

If you have or are targeting something in the GT/GTX range you may prefer 2.5"

I used the 2.25 and was/still am impressed by the very minor change in feel from the top mount- TiGray goes FMIC

The original research and supporting math that convinced me to go with 2.25 is here- MS6 CXRacing 2.25 FMIC DIY Setup

I have a cx racing kit and it fits ok, had to a lil extending on the intake side.. Now having to redo the hot pipe because its bend and leaking!! They use 90 bend alum to the ko4!! After many pulls sand take offs and put ons the not cutting…I ordered a silicon 90 2.5-2.0 to see if that helps. I i have to do is chop my bend hot 90 and use a silicon 90…Its that a bad idea? I throw on a gtx 3071/ewg so
i am tryin to figure this out before i put more power down!!

I used a 45* reducer with a 45* pipe coming off the turbo. The 90* coupler with a straight pipe hit the valve cover. Two 45* angles gave just enough clearance.

It looks like everyone's going with the treadstone TR8. I want to go with the TR6 because I don't want to cut the crash bar and plan on sticking with the KO4 for a long time. Is anyone using the TR6?

My initial plans included using a TR6. But after measuring there didn't seem to be a way to fit it without cutting the crash bar or the tray, or both. Even at 6 inches tall, something has to go to make room. Maybe it would be easier to make it work once you had the actual item and test fitted it. But the measuring tape said other wise.

I might give it a shot and see how it goes with the TR6 when it gets warmer here in MD and stops snowing.

Finally had the time and courage to try this fmic install. I did not want to move the washer, cut the crash bar, cut as little as possible off the front bumper, and wanted the treadstone tr6 intercooler. I have no plans to go bt so tr6 is perfect. I used the Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V Intercooler Brackets from Treadstone performance.

My setup uses the cxracing ms6 fmic pipes and clamps only, which worked out perfectly for me because I did not have to cut, bead, or weld anything and they're all beaded pipes. I did have to buy a u-pipe and cut it into a very short sort of 90 degree going into intercooler front turbo side (it is the only short black pipe you'll see in the photo).

There are still adjustments I need to make. As you can see, the intercooler isn't sitting horizontally straight, but you don't really notice it once the bumper is on. I only had to cut off the bottom panel off the front bumper to clear the intercooler and bumper fits, but barely lol.

Overall, this was a pain in the ass lol, but i did it!

I was hesitant about routing right infront of the PS tank cause worried the engine could rock and crack it. Looks good, but hope you dont run into issue. I do not recall how the engine moves I just remember seeing it move more than I expected when I was at dyno.

I've had no issues with mine, I've been running it like that for 30k+ miles.

Just RMM and FMM.
The engine I saw move if anything had only a RMM. I just used a spearco top to bottom core and stuck with routing on drivers side as main thing was to keep WW tank. Glad to see others go this route to prove it is safe.

Holy shit! I wish I would've seen this before I installed my FMIC.

Anyone with CX RACING FMIC went with TR8? I'm searching which brackets is recommended to use since my CX Racing intercooler will be sufficient enough for BNR S4.
