BNR GTX Swap Possible?

Ok so I am looking into geting a used BNR stage 2 turbo, and i noticed garrett has gtx 28r wheels available now, my question is if they are using the inside guts of the 2871 would this gtx wheel fit in the bnr housing? or am i on drugs lol.. let me know guys

Doubtful since it seems that the compressor housing are different on the GTX series. It might be possible to have a machine shop take off the exta material...but that would negate any cost savings going with a used BNR turbo.

i believe the BNR as is uses journal bearings but the GTX turbos use ball bearings so theres issues with the swap, someone has already addressed this issue with BNR and there is a reason they are not already running GTX wheels.

bnr are also ball bearing. They have to be if they replace our turbos which are both oil and water cooled

dude, the disco potato, what used to be the GT28RS, and is now known as the GT2860RS, is most certainly ball-bearing.

I owned a b15 sentra when that turbo first came out and remember the car the turbo was named after:

You cannot buy a GTX compressor wheel from Garrett, but you can buy a billet copy from Snail Turbo snail-turbo - Billet compressor wheel | Facebook. It is p/n SNX3071 and was about $250 last time I checked. (The GT3071 ans GT2871 share the same compressor wheel FWIW).

Still if it is BB, might not be possible.
