Default 13psi sucks

I can't seem to hold steady boost pressure, anywhere from 12-14 PSI while WOT. I see boost spikes up to 18 psi or so but only for a fraction of a second, not holding 17.5 like I'm supposed to be with an accessport stage 1+sf.. Am I experiencing symptoms of a leaky bypass valve, or do I have a boost leak elsewhere?

I have heard of loose connections between TIP and turbo, but will this really cause me to not hit my boost targets? Only thing I could think of was my BPV being a leaker, but wanted to know if anyone else had resolved this issue by scrapping the stocker...

So you spike to 18, then immediately drop to 14/12? Or do you spike to 18, hit 17/16, then slowly taper down to 13-14?

I will spike for a split second and immediately drop to 13ish psi, no tapering whatsoever, can't even hold stock boost levels. Infact I wont even spike that high unless I suddenly floor it, if I ease into it I'll only get 13

I haven't loaded a log on this site yet, but this is how I've done it on other sites..

If you have your logs open up in Microsoft Excel, take a screenshot of what you have open (hit the print screen button on keyboard). Save picture, and host picture on a site (or just upload it). Walla, datarog, bery nice!

Sounds like a boost leak since you cant even hold 17psi, I spike to 18 or 19 and taper the closer I get to readline. Maybe its time for HKS?

got anyone local that would let you put on their valve to see if you get diff boost levels?

But is my bpv the origin of the boost leak?

That would definitely answer my question above.. I've heard good stuff about the hks, I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get one. Also thinking about replacing the turbo inlet with the one from pg, since I heard that can be another source of boost leak, even though pre-turbo, just from loose clamps. And if I got to get in there anyway I might as well upgrade...

So I view datalogs through MS Excel? I thought I was supposed to view them through the accessport manager or ATR.. Probably why I couldn't figuire out how to view them

Yeah, Excel is a good viewer to use. Go into the AP Manager while your AP is connected and choose the View|Advanced menu (or something like this). It will then pop a dialog where you can download the logs from the AP to your hard disk. Then, navigate to that folder and open the CSV files with Excel. For ATR it will log to a folder on your laptop.

Mine used to do the same and it was from a boost leak on the intercooler hoses.

Dang, I'll go check those asap, that would be a super easy fix. There are a total of four clamps to check between the hot and cold pipe right? Was it obvious they were loose, I took a glance at them this weekend but nothing looked unsecured, maybe I should go tighten them all down anyway

Not obvious by looking at them. My loose ones were on the hot pipe. I was installing my turbo inlet and figured why not tighten the clamps on my intercooler. Went to tighten them and they were pretty loose. You might as well double check anyway, only takes a few minutes.

Well, I tightened down all of the clamps on intake, inlet and intercooler hoses and still no luck with my boost problem.. Maybe its the bpv afterall. Would watching wg duty cycle help to clue me in if I actually have a leak or if its possibly tune related? Would my wastegate be maxed trying to make up for the leak? I also remember hearing something about a loose connection on throttle body being a problem, wasn't sure what to look for when tightening the other clamps. How do I find the throttle body, is it near the intake manifold?

watchign wg duty cycle would probably not do anything. since the boost is leaking the wg would not have to work to keep the pressure below "safe" (im just guessing but it seems right) remove your valve, take the seal off and then put it back together and install your valve again. its gona come down to you buying a new valve i think.

Weird, I really don't know what the problem is. I'm hesitant to drop cash on more parts hoping to fix this supposed boost leak. Do you have your standback hooked up or are you just using the stock ecu?

I might try switching back to the stock map on my accessport to see if the boost levels change at all.. Not really sure what else to try

I had to send in the Standback for a minor usb issue so im stock boost. Witht he SB on boost is normal what ever I set it too. Yours may be a Cobb issue try going back to stock and see what you get.
