Default Issue! O2 sensor extension harness corksport catted dp08-ms3

Ok I've searched the forums (and Google) and can't seem to find my answer. I've got a 2008 ms3. I purchased a used catted corksport downpipe (nice piece). But after installing I ran into the problem of my secondary O2 sensor cable being too short to plug into the factory harness. I could easily splice/Solder/heat shrink it in with wires. I have read though that the potential current drop from that solution could throw off the O2 sensor reading. I've sent a message to corksport (waiting reply). From Google/forum searching I did find a company that carries extension cables (link below). They look very close but don't look quite exactly like mine from the pics. The ones they sell appear to be close but it looks like I'd have to cut a slit in the middle between the connections. Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, what was your fix? Maybe corksport will get back to me soon, and I'll report back. I've searched the forum and am not an idiot, but after an hour of reading I couldn't find anything relating to my issue. But this is what msf is for right? So I'm posting

Thanks!

Looking at corksports instructions I think you might need an 02 extension.

I read that too, but I didn't see it for sale on their site I'd order it now if I did. It is after hours, but I'm hoping the email inquiry I sent ill get a response by next week. I'm stuck driving my truck until then, granted it's also a boosted diesel, but not nearly as fun as the mazda. I was hoping to load a stage 2+ ots cobb map and have some fun tomorrow at a big meet tomorrow in Dfw, but oh well.

I know the feeling!! I hate when my car is down too lol.

I also did a little more looking around and its supposed to come with an extension..
Can someone tell me the part number for this o2 harness?
Only thing to do now is wait and see what they tell you.

That hurts. At least you know what you need, though. I don't think I've ever seen any info about that extension. Those cs dp are nice

Have you got a response yet? Feel free to give us a call and ask for me.
We do not sell these separately as they come with the original purchase of the downpipe. But maybe I can find an extra one.

They are a bit pricey.

Vincent, I ended up cutting the harness, soldering and high temp heat shrinking the connections. So far so good after 150 miles. I did get a response from my corksport website email inquiry and whoever responded said regular hardware stores carry extension harnesses and I should check there.
